Humanimals....dance show

A wonderful turnout of locals and tourists for this long awaited show by the Humanimals....a dance troupe of 4 women and one man, who have choreographed a combination of modern dance and acrobatics with the movements of chameleons or gechos.....really incredible.

I apologize for all the movement - these folks were never actually still during the full hour performance...................

Often one dancer would emerge, to be joined by another, then another........

there were handholds built onto the performance stage, which they used to do some fabulous moves and acrobatics, all in perfect time to the music....which in itself was very unique.......

Overhead bars were used, upper and lower stage, and the shiny plastic floor area in front of the stage as well.......

A short video (if it plays) will show you a little of the action. Can't wait until this group performs again......really wonderful!!! After the show a gang of us got together at David Lau's for drinks....fun evening!

critters, the beach and coffee.....

this is Lucy, a 20 year old pony who lives in our hood and is often tethered in the median, where there is lots of good grass.........

off to the beach again with Murielle, and we all got to go for a lovely swim.....mmmm....!

Miki took her walking poles and did her knee exercises...........longer walks each time.......hurray!

strange little sailboat went by.................

and 3 of these sea birds sitting on posts................

not just a pile of seaweed - if you look closely you will see about 50 sandpipers feeding on whatever is in the seaweed.................

under the sign for the fishing tournament in May is a poster announcing a boxing match in the town square tomorrow night. All the local contestants were being weighed and photographed.....while they still have their teeth..............

A pro fighter will be here to take on all comers......needless to say, we will pass on this event............

Broke down and bought some local organic coffee. The label on the side says: Drinking 4 cups of this coffee will reduce diabetes by 30%; prevent colon cancer; reduce 80 % the risk of Parkinsons; stimulate the brain; improve physical energy; improve humor sense; prevent suffering depression and consuming alcohol among young people. Who knew....maybe I should start drinking coffee........??????????????

only in Mexico......:-)

pool play and new resto

We are so happy to be back in our pool...............and Botas loves to run around the rim.....

Murielle came for dinner the other night but before she could get in the pool it started to rain.........next time....

Tried out a new restaurant in our hood the other night - the Full Moon! Owned by a lovely Swiss man who is married to a local Mexican, so they and their 2 kids live on the next street.

This board gives you an idea, but they serve GREAT baguettes, fresh made pasta, salads, CREPES, a little Mexican food and hamburgers.

The space used to be a meat market, and the wife is an artist, so she did a great job decorating the space.

We enjoyed dinner for 2 under $10 - awesome!!!!

Sunday golf......

A local hotel, the Mayakoba, hosts the annual PGA tournament every February, and every month they open the course and the pros to the public. There are mass classes,

shade tents to sit under............

4 well known restaurants prepare their fare - for free!!!!

This year's winner, Johnson Wagner, was on hand to do impromtu lessons.........

Miki took advantage of the free lesson......

this is how you get your grip right...............

here comes the swing........

and the follow thru......good job!

Murielle and I cheered her on and enjoyed free food and cold drinks as well as great people watching - it was very well attended!!

friends and the beach

I have posted this set 4 times now and the pics are not showing up, so will post fewer and see if that is the problem.....!
We had dinner with Linda and her bff from teen years, Susan.

Murielle joined us at David Lau's and Valorie spoiled us, of course.

Finally got Murielle out to the beach.....ah, our beaches are so lovely this time of year when they are not full of tourists.....but we do love our tourists, too!!!!!

Yep - feet in the warm Caribbean sea, all the way from Grande Prairie!!

The main dock in town..............

the crooked lighthouse, which from this angle doesn't even look crooked......

Grabbed a refreshment at Merkadito (used to be the Mother in Law's) - great tostadas and service from our friend Delores!!

Murielle arrives!!!

Here comes Murielle (our house sitter from last winter), all the way from Great Slave Lake, via Edmonton and Toronto...into the heat of Mexico. We JUST got out of the airport, into the car, and a few blocks away, before the heavens opened and Murielle got her first taste of a torrential tropical rain storm.

But we made it to our place, where we had a coffee and waited for the rain to abate before taking her to Casitas Kinsol, where she will be for a month.

She got settled in, had a nap, and then we went for dinner at Pelicanos, where owner Damian joined us and even gave us a free Mayan coffee.......!

Yummy - coffee, kaluah, brandy, ice cream...........

Then Damian invited us up to his room and played his harp for us.......it was an amazing evening and a wonderful welcome to PM for our dear friend................!
