Friday night in PoMo

After an interesting performance art show at the Cultural Centre, we headed to Cantina Habernero for a drink and some music. The place was full, as usual.










Vertigo 777 played awesome renditions of good old rock and roll.............









Owner Ed was his usual social self, and made us one of the best flans we have ever had!








Ed and Natalie's little ones, Jeremy and Jessily.....heading home with the nanny. They are getting so big!






In Coombs back home in Canada, we have Goats on the Roof. Here in Mexico, we have dogs on the roof - these 2 beauties belong to Steve, and bark at every dog going down the street....oh, and the occasional cat.

new family member

I would like to introduce you to Pequena, the newest member of our feline family here in PoMo. She arrived a couple of days ago, out of nowhere, and has a twisted left ear and exquisite markings. She is very very shy, so can't get close enough (yet) to pick her up. She is enjoying tuna, canned catfood and plain yogurt and can eat the dry catfood if it is moistened for her.





She has moved into the tote we set up to keep the catfood out of the rain, but dashes into the pumphouse beside the water tank whenever the door opens.

With Miki using the power washer and me sweeping the water into the drains, we cleaned the whole back patio in preparation for painting this week.

Life in PM

Today we had our garden clippers and machete sharpened by this enterprising young man who was no more than 10 if he was a day. Supervised by papa, of course. I used both to hack back the trees which had grown over the pool again, dropping both leaves and berries, which clog up our drains in a heavy rain - which we had last night, so were up at 3:30 am sweeping water....!  Beats shovelling snow!











At both Walmart and Costco, Christmas trees are for sale - 59 dollars at WM and 69 at Costco. Nice to smell the fragrance of fir trees without having to endure any cold weather!






Botas hates having his picture taken, but today he was having his nap in the back seat of the car and it was just too cute to ignore. He comes to the store with us some nights and happily sits or sleeps in the car on the street. As long as he is with us, he doesn't care.








This little rescue darling was found by Diane this week, but within 2 days had a good home. You can't tell here, but he has blue eyes - hence Diane's name for him, Blue. He came to visit at the bookstore where this was taken.

Home again!!!!

Landed in Cancun at 10 am and were home by noon. These 3 were very happy to see us (oh - and probably the big bowl of food!) - this is our original Mama, her first black kitten, who was Chiik's pal, and a new kitten I will call Padre, as he has a white collar! Now there are a total of 7 cats - all our favourites and a couple of new ones coming to be fed every day - and of course our Botas, who has mellowed over the summer since his neutering last spring....:-)




Saturday night we all got together at David Lau's for dinner - Sharon, Jill and Diane brought us up to date on all the local gossip and news.









Sandra and Dan brought us the jungle news.....!









Les and Valorie rounded out the group....it was so great to see everyone. One couple who didn't make it landed too late and then without their luggage....oh dear....but it arrived the next day safe and sound.

Seattle to Atlanta to Cancun.....

Somewhere down there is sleepy Atlanta. We left Seattle at 10:55 pm and arrived Atlanta at 6:30 am. Quick hour and then on to Cancun.









Oh, yah, down there is the Cancun strip and city and those beautiful beaches........bring it on!!!!

A brand new GINORMOUS wind mill, installed by CFE, the local power company. Wow - can't wait to hear how much hydro this will save us and produce.

Seattle for the day!

Another great visit to one of our favourite cities - and the sun was shining!!!!!








Walked all over town, saw the sights and enjoyed the Chinatown gate!








Stopped at Ivar's for our annual chowder and acres of clams.....yummy!









Glad to see the last of such a large city - see you in May, Seattle!!!

Vancouver to Seattle

Another great evening with Kelly, Sean, little Emma and Amber and friend Heather. A great send off! See you in May!









Yah, we do take a lot of stuff with us.....but we need all of it. Thanks Jason, for schlepping us to the Amtrak station again.








Miki at our seat on the train....lovely way to travel to Seattle. Comfortable and cheap!








The scenery along the route is awesome - follows the ocean all the way down. Lots of little towns and communities along the way.
