Camping...no, not me....!!!

Ter and Lar are still crazy enough to like camping - even with 3 dogs...!!!! They took their foster dog Maxx to his new forever home in the Okanagan and then back in Parksville decided to have another night of fun under the stars.....








They set up at Rathtrevor and invited us over for dinner - Larry's famous rosemary prawns, no less - so we had a great dinner, wine around the fire, lots of laughs - and then got to go home to our warm house and comfy bed.








Camping with dogs is not for the faint hearted.....you have to take fencing to keep them on the site, all the beds and toys and food and stuff - and all the people paraphanalia......yikes!! Then of course they all sleep in the tent together.......

Lar, Michele and Bill joined us in celebrating Terri's birthday on the 12th!










We had a grand dinner with this wonderful dessert (thanks, Michele!) of cheeses and fruit - NO gluten!!!

Oh, and of course Bailey was invited and was the star of the show again. She and Chiik had a cautious encounter, but the 2 older cats slept through it all. Wonderful celebration with dear friends!

We all had a visit at Ter and Lar's, where Bailey stole the show, despite 4 other dogs doing their best not to feel left out.

Rosie in Parksville

Just after the kids week, we had the wonderful treat of having Rosie with us for 3 days!! As always, it had been tooooo long since a proper visit, but with the dearest friends it seems like no time as passed. Here Miki and Rosie cook up a storm!!

But my bad - we spent so much time talking, laughing, crying, eating, drinking and enjoying each other, your trusty blogger didn't take many pics.....!













Terri and Larry came over one evening for a visit and glass of wine.....













So we all got caught up on our respective lives. Can't wait till the next time we can all be together.

Kids week in Parksville!

We had a wonderful 9 days with the 3 grand kids - swimming, beaching (is that a word?), camping, golfing, fishing, bumper boating - and there are way too many pics to put here.













So hopefully you can click on the link below and see the album of all the pics and fun times. Can't wait till next year - only with a different configuration. We will have Amber with a friend/cousin and same for the younger ones. Too much of an age gap at this point for an extended period. Still, we all had fun and it was great to have them all here.

While we were in vic, we went to Rick and Helen's for dinner and an overnight. Rick and Misty on the back porch.













"grandson" Cash was in their charge for the weekend, as Mel and Jake were off in Nova Scotia for a trip.

We had the most amazing roast beef dinner, done on the barby by Rick.......








and great side dishes by Helen. With the kids away, we had the use of their gorgeous suite - a five star night for sure!!!

fun in Victoria

Down to vic for appts. and visits.....stopped by the wonderful courtyard at the main library to listen to an amazing jazz violinist....had lunch with Joanne at the Saigon.....
















Then off to Oak Bay and saw this new butcher shop....yummy delights....











And finally got to see Marion Evamy's (Pupart) new gallery.....very spiff!!!












Fabulous work, great to see Marion again, but just missed seeing the dogs.....:-(











This is the artist who does all the wonderful pupart cards we sell in Puerto Morelos for the animal rescue fund. Marion and Bobb brought back Petita, a 3 legged PM rescue dog, who is happily part of their family now.
